INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE

It is time. I feel my calling. The country is waiting. May, Corbyn, Farron, Nuttall and Harris.

Leicester won the league, the country voted to Brexit and Trump won the Presidential election.

It is the time of the underdog, our political system needs a new energy, Westminster needs a new kid (middle aged cuddly man) on the block.

I have no experience, not served in any parliamentary position or on any Council, I mean I am on the synagogue Council,  that might be enough, could I be a leader of the western world?

Why not? My campaign starts here. Join me on this journey to Westminster. Be part of my team. Let  us shake up the political status quo.

Firstly I need a campaign manager, someone to sing my praises, to talk about me to everyone, to highlight my strengths and achievements, to limit and downplay my weaknesses, I know the perfect person, it’s my Mum.

Secondly I need money, every campaign needs investment to pay for the posters, transport, food, social media, food , focus groups, food and diet coke.

What about policies, important but maybe not essential. One minute the PM( Top boss)  is a remainer. Next minute a brexiter. Then no immediate election. Now an election. No rise on National insurance, then a rise, then no rise.  I need to appear to say something but really nothing, sound passionate, but not about anything.

I need to reach the (my) people. I will go to them. I will book a room or tables or a table in a  different pub each night. I will share my dreams for the future, in a post Brexit, Trump, Le Pen, world. I will listen to their fears, find out what they want from me as a leader. I will comfort and empower my constituents. If we need to talk all night we will, if we need extended licenses, we will (every night). I will be the true people parliamentarian.

Every day at lunchtime I will visit office blocks, shops, cinemas, as well as eating and watching films I will find out what troubles the everyday citizen, the worker, the student, the unemployed, vulnerable and disenfranchised. Everyone will have a voice in Finchley and Golder Green.

I will go to sporting events. I will take the people with. How can we make sport more accessible for both the spectator (me) and the participant (you)

I need to be different from every other candidate, for the third year running we are being asked to listen to politicians and make a decision which will determine our future. My campaign will be different. Perhaps a bus with a banner promising the National health service millions more. Maybe a banner promising rises for the police for when we pass police stations (the few that are still open)

I want to put a smile back on the face of the every day man woman, child, cat and dog.  We want a world full of love. A world where “Love is all around us” Where we give “Peace a chance”

I need a catchy jingo or poem, how about

“we need love not hate

To engage and debate

No more bile or vile

Or mentions of Heil”

It needs further work, but it is a start. Vote Harris. Join me on this wonderful journey to Westminster, stopping off at all the places mentioned above.
